Inês is from Coimbra, Portugal. She obtained her BS, MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Coimbra. She is an associate professor at the College of Agriculture of Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, where she joins the Food Science and Technology Department. Inês is currently a visiting scholar at Professor Verduzco´s laboratory.
Her research interests are focused on high pressure and supercritical fluids extraction processes from natural products and their residues, and polymers/biopolymers for food package applications. She is currently interested in bottlebrush polymers, including their synthesis and applications as nanoparticles and antifouling agents.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and watching movies.
