Amit comes from Rajasthan, India. He completed his B.Tech. from IIT Roorkee, India from department of Chemical Engineering in year 2013. Then he worked with Reliance Industries (petrochemical segment) for two years and joined our group in year 2015.
His current research interest is in selective removal of divalent ions from high salinity water using capacitive deionization technique with polymer coated electrodes. Capacitive deionization is one of the most energy efficient methods to desalinate low salinity water, but a selective polymeric membrane is needed to apply it to high salinity waters. Amit is working on designing and testing a polymeric coating which can selectively remove divalent ions.
Apart from his research work, he likes to play soccer, cricket and read non-fiction books.
